RESOURCE INITIATIVE

IMPACT 2020

IMPACT 2020 is about investing in the future, investing in our facilities and investing in our friends. This vision has the potential to accelerate our plans to not only reach the local communities where we have campuses, but to plant a dozen new churches nationally while increasing our support to our long-term partnerships around the world. We believe our church can make an impact on the world one life and one community and one nation at a time!

Every gift will not be the same, but each gift is vital.

STORIES OF CHANGE

When Miguel and his wife, Keiri, first encountered Mission Church, a Lake Pointe national partner in Oregon, they knew it was different and decided to join the launch team for the Portland Campus. Soon after, they found themselves in a hospital room, grieving the loss of their child and afraid for Keiri’s life. The people of Mission Church gathered around Miguel and Keiri. But as a recovering drug addict, the trauma of losing his child and almost his wife drove Miguel back to his addiction. The people of Mission Church persisted in finding him, caring for him and helping him become sober again. He’s been clean ever since. Through the people of Mission Church, Miguel and his family have experienced community like never before.

For the past ten years, Lake Pointe has partnered with Pastor Mark Mohammad in the Northern Ghana village of Tarikpaa. More than 95 percent of the people in Tarikpaa are Muslim, and most of the families make less than $25 per month. Lake Pointe now sponsors more than 102 children, and the funds from from Lake Pointe allow the local partner to provide essentials such as food, school supplies, school uniforms, shoes, and health insurance. It has also given Pastor Mark an opportunity to share the love and hope of Jesus with the Muslim families of his village. “We could never get this opportunity to get close to these Muslim families to share the Gospel with them.  The sponsorship program is making an impact and giving us opportunities we have never seen before. God bless the family of Lake Pointe Church and also the sponsorship families.”

Carrie Pfeifer came into the Lake Pointe Food Pantry (CHOICE Day) and while speaking with one of the interviewers, she mentioned suicide. She wasn’t working and was an alcoholic with a desire to change. She was just in a dark place in life. The volunteers at the food pantry prayed with her and just loved her that day and continually since that point. Several of the CHOICE Day team members reached out to Carrie and developed friendships with her. She began coming to Lake Pointe re|generation and started her recovery process. She has since found a job and mentioned having a certain happiness that she has never felt before. Inspired to give back, Carrie asked her job to have Thursdays off so that she can serve at the food pantry. She was baptized on November 4, 2018 and is going through the process of becoming a member of our Rockwall campus. “And to think,” Carrie said, “this all started with me just coming to get food.”
