The Lake Pointe Counseling team is still available and providing their services via Zoom or phone sessions. Though we cannot meet in person due to the restrictions around COVID-19, we are offering virtual sessions for couples and individuals. We are here to work with you on your marriage, healing hurts, and changing the way you get along in your relationships, right from the safety of your own home.

Traditional Weekly Therapy

You choose a therapist and meet for an hour each week. This format is typically to support an individual or couple. Traditional therapy is not recommended for marriages in crisis.


Private Intensive

A powerful format that allows for rapid growth and change in your marriage. Two-hour intakes followed by 2 to 6 hour blocks in one or consecutive days. This format can give your marriage the equivalent of 6 months of therapy in one week.

The intensive couple sessions are based on the research of Dr. Susan Johnson and her proven model called Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). It is the most researched and most successful marital therapy model to date. The model shows a success rate of 85% with 75% reporting a total improvement in their marriage and 90% reporting significant improvement.

Carolyn Sidereas is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her B.A. at the University of Texas, and her master’s degree in Counseling from Texas A & M. She has a passion for helping people heal and thrive in life and relationships. Areas of Specialization include premarital and marital, affair recovery, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), sexual abuse, PTSD & EMDR, Brain Spotting, (including 2 hours sessions, ½ day and full days intensives, and weekend couples’ intensives).

Brent Theis



Brent Theis is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. He received a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. He is committed to helping adults and marriages grow and thrive addressing any issue that hinders the process. Areas of specializations include premarital, marital (including 2 hours sessions, ½ day and full-day intensives and weekend couples’ intensives). Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), brain spotting for trauma anxiety/depression, affair recovery, sexual abuse, sexually integrity issues, spiritual and personal growth.

Casey Christian



Casey Christian, Director of Recovery, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He received his Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1997. His areas of practice include working with families, adolescents, individuals, and couples Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Areas of specialization include addictions & recovery, working with premarital and marital counseling, divorce recovery, affair recovery, blended families, trauma, same-sex attraction, depression, grief, anxiety, and life transitions.

Tammy Williams Smith

Tammy Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received a B.A.S. in Ministry and Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and an M.A. in Counseling from Amberton University. Tammy works with trauma and addiction recovery, including PTSD, grief, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression and life transitions. She focuses on the balance between spiritual, physical and emotional health using the tools of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Existential therapy, among others.

Nancy Bourland

Nancy Bourland is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Counseling and a M.S. in Counseling both from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She works with children 7 years and older, adolescents and young adults. Hers areas of specialization include utilizing play therapy techniques with children, depression, anxiety, grief, anger, abuse, trauma, divorce recovery, adjustment disorders, learning issues, relationship issues and transitioning to college. She also utilizes the Conner’s CBRS test when learning and/or behavioral issues arise at school.

Steve Johnson

Steve Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He received his BA in Psychology, A master’s in biblical studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and a master’s in biblical counseling from Colorado Christian Counseling. Andrea Crumrine is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received a B.A. in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a M.A. in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. Her areas of practice include working with children ages 7-12, adolescent girls, individual women. Areas of specialization include utilizing play therapy techniques with children, relationship issues, personal growth, life transitions, depression, anxiety, grief, gender identity issues, women’s issues.

Lourie Farrell

Lourie received her B.A. In elementary education from Middle Tennessee State University and M.S. in counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She has a passion for personal growth and development; helping others to become the best version of themselves. Areas of professional interest are couples, men and women life adjustment issues, parenting skills, sexual abuse, trauma, Brain Spotting, grief, depression, anxiety, addiction and recovery, as well as relational issues. David Foster

David Foster is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Member of Texas Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors, and Clinical Fellow with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He holds graduate degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary, Wheaton College, and Columbia International University. Areas of specialization are individuals, adolescents, ministry/missionary care, and trauma treatment.
